MACON, Ga. -- Riveredge Behavioral Health has opened a new recovery facility in Macon.

Dr. Shannon Gordon, Chief Executive Officer of River Edge Behavioral Health and the River Edge Foundation, says it's the realization of a 13-year dream.

"Mental health challenges and substance use disorders affect, if not you, someone you love. recovery is real and possible, treatment is effective, and recovery can be expected," Gordon says.

It opens a brand new doorway of recovery for our communities.

The center will offer 16 beds for children, 30 beds for adults, and a 24/7 crisis service center with nine beds. Gordon says the COVID-19 pandemic offset construction but that their developer was still able to complete the project ahead of schedule.
