Grand Opening for Serenity Courtyard of Macon
MACON – River Edge Behavioral Health (River Edge) is pleased to announce the grand Opening of affordable supportive housing units to serve seniors receiving mental health services, Serenity Courtyard of Macon.
The 26 permanent supportive housing units will have a center courtyard and will help seniors 55 and older receiving mental health services secure a permanent home.
River Edge Behavioral Health received multiple funding sources to develop the single-family one-bedroom housing units, including, Georgia Investment in Housing Grant, Macon-Bibb County HOME Funds, Community Foundation of Central Georgia Grant, and River Edge Foundation.
In a statement about the project, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) said,
“Stable, supportive housing is essential for older adults living with mental health challenges, and River Edge Behavioral Health is leading the way!
We’re thrilled to congratulate River Edge on the construction of 24 new tiny homes designed specifically to provide safe, independent, and supportive living for older adults with chronic mental health issues.
This project is more than just housing—it’s about dignity, stability, and ensuring that these vulnerable individuals do not fall through the cracks.”
