FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 3, 2018

FULTON COUNTY – River Edge Behavioral Health is open for business in Fulton County. The behavioral healthcare provider, contracted by the Fulton Board of Commissioners, opened two outpatient sites on Jan. 2 to offer core mental health and substance use disorder treatment services to uninsured adult Fulton County residents. On opening day, River Edge: Fulton County fielded more than 400 calls regarding services, and clinicians completed intake assessments throughout the day.

River Edge: Boulevard, located on the first floor of the Center for Health and Rehabilitation (265 Boulevard NE, Atlanta), provides a continuum of adult core behavioral health services, including intake assessments, individual counseling, group counseling, case management, peer services and medication management. River Edge: Boulevard is open Monday through Friday, and walk-ins are accepted between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for same-day service.

River Edge: Roswell Road offers substance use disorder treatment services in Suite A of the Fulton County North Annex (7741 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs). Services include intake assessments, individual counseling and group counseling. River Edge: Roswell Road is open Tuesdays and Thursdays; individuals can see a clinician from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Both River Edge: Fulton County locations are open access; no appointments are necessary to be seen by a clinician.

“As a leader in behavioral healthcare in Georgia for more than 65 years, River Edge is excited to get started in Fulton County.  We are honored the Fulton County Commission trusted River Edge to help make life better for residents here. We’re also extremely grateful to the leadership and staff of the Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health for their support and guidance,” said River Edge Chief Executive Officer Shannon T. Gordon, LCSW. “We look forward to providing hope and help to Fulton residents, for treatment is effective, and recovery can be expected.”

Currently, River Edge: Fulton County locations only provide services to uninsured Fulton County residents, offering sliding scale service fees based on income and family size. River Edge is applying for approval to accept Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurances in Fulton County in the near future.

“Yesterday was an exciting day for the Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities as it marks a new chapter in the delivery of behavioral health services to County residents,” said the Director of the Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities LaTrina R. Foster, LPC. “By contracting with River Edge we will employ innovative strategies in 2018 to improve behavioral health outcomes by opening new locations and reducing wait times, which fulfills a second principle of our Strategic Plan, which seeks to ensure ‘all people are healthy.’”

This spring, River Edge will open a third outpatient site at the South Fulton Service Center (5590 Stonewall Tell Road) in the newly established City of Renaissance (formerly South Fulton). River Edge will offer core behavioral health services at this location.
