January 22, 2014

MACON — River Edge Behavioral Health Center has been selected to present its innovative use of telemedicine at the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) international conference in Baltimore, Md., May 17–20.

The ATA conference is the world’s largest event of its kind and word of River Edge’s presentation has already garnered additional national attention. The United States Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration featured the upcoming honor on its online Ideas Exchange, including an interview with Ali Yallah, PMP, River Edge’s chief information officer.

At the conference, Yallah will highlight River Edge’s success in garnering national funding to implement its portable, easy-to-use and robust telemedicine solution, which allows secure video conferencing between providers and clients.

“I’m excited to share how telemedicine has helped River Edge improve access to care, clinical outcomes for persons served, prescriber and other licensed staff retention, market share and financial outcomes,” Yallah said. “We are also hopeful that recognition as a leader in behavioral health technology will bring new opportunities and tools to promote recovery in the communities we serve.”

Shannon Terrell Harvey, chief executive officer of River Edge, added, “Implementing telemedicine is another example of River Edge living its mission to make life better for the people and communities we serve. We are delighted by the recognition of such a prestigious group.”
