River Edge Earns Re-Accreditation From CARF
MACON — River Edge Behavioral Health Center has earned a three-year re-accreditation and distinction as exemplary in two areas from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International (CARF). Five surveyors from across the nation and British Columbia visited River Edge during July to evaluate agency operations against 10,000 nationally published, peer reviewed standards.
In the summary report, the surveyors highlighted numerous River Edge strengths and awarded River Edge “exemplary” distinction in two areas: leadership and supported housing.
A few of the direct quotes from the final report:
“River Edge Behavioral Health Center (REBHC) has clear leadership, exceptional staff and a strong set of guiding principles to guide its work.”
“The staff provides a seamless service to inspire the individuals REBHC serves to reach their potential, from crisis intervention through housing and the continuity of care.”
“The organization demonstrates respect for its persons served and staff members by providing services in a safe, clean and attractive environment that is conducive to recovery.”
“The level of professionalism within REBHC stands out in each of the person-centered programs.”
“The organization has excellent person-centered treatment plans that focus on the independence of those served.”
“REBHC staff members are knowledgeable, compassionate and caring and advocate for the individuals served while seeking ways to accommodate them and any special needs.”
“We are proud of this notable distinction of quality,” said Shannon Terrell Harvey, chief executive officer of River Edge. “This is an affirmation of River Edge Board and staff’s work to make lives better for the people and communities we serve. At River Edge, we believe treatment is effective and recovery is to be expected. This re-accreditation affirms that.”
