Client Rights

All information regarding persons served at River Edge Behavioral Health Center is protected by State and Federal law. Information is never released except by consent of the person served, guardian, or as otherwise required by law.

The fees charged for services at River Edge are among the most competitive in our area. Our financial counselors are trained to work with each person served to set fair and reasonable payment plans based on individual evaluation. River Edge counselors will also verify insurance and pre-certify treatment if required by insurance carrier. River Edge offers services on a sliding fee scale for those without insurance. For questions regarding finances or insurance, please call (478) 803-7625.

Involuntary Evaluation Authority

Under the provision of Georgia law, all Physicians, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Licensed Clinical Psychologists are required, in an emergency situation, to ensure that persons at present imminent risk to life due to mental health or addictions receive emergency care. If a person at risk refuses care, staff is required to evaluate and ensure that appropriate emergency services are provided for care and safety.

Protective Services

Whenever there is suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children, adults, or the disabled, Georgia Law requires that the Department of Family and Children Services of the person's county of residence is notified.

Formal Complaint Process

Any person served, guardian, parent of a minor, representative or family member may file a complaint alleging violation of a client's rights. Every complaint will be fully investigated and undergo a formal review. For a copy of the formal complaint procedure or assistance filing a complaint, contact the River Edge Office of Consumer Relations at (478) 803-7643.

If you wish to make a complaint about our Crisis Stabilization Program, you may call the Office of Healthcare Facility Regulation Division at 1-800-878-6442.
